We are looking forward to another great season of music making with the Wichita Symphony Youth Orchestras (WSYO) in 2025-2026! If you are interested in becoming a member of WSYO, please read through the information below for more details about the program before completing the application. All students must apply for membership, and audition materials for our audition-based ensembles can be found in the links below. Contact the Youth Orchestras Coordinator at youthorch@wso.org if you have questions.
Applications for the 2025-2026 WSYO Season are now open! Applications will include an audition video for placement.

Students interested in joining our 2025-2026 Youth Concert Band and Introductory String Orchestra do not need to audition, but still need to apply. A nomination form will be sent to the band/orchestra director you list on your application.

SCALES: Please play the appropriate octave(s) for the range of your instrument. (ex. Trumpet E major scale may be played in one octave)

How to record and submit your video audition
Schedules are subject to change. Final versions of the schedules will be distributed following auditons.
Schedules coming soon. Introductory, Youth Chamber Players, Repertory Orchestra, and Youth Symphony rehearse on Sunday afternoons. The Youth Concert Band and Youth Wind Ensemble rehearse on Monday nights.
