Thrilling Symphonic Performances

"Hearing it live? Priceless. There is no substitute."
- Facebook Review

When you think about 60 – 90 musicians playing together, moving as one, giving life to notes on paper, there is only one word to describe it: magic. Not every city has access to high quality performances of classical masters, and Wichita can be proud to say that we don’t just have a symphony orchestra – we have a great symphony orchestra.

Music Education and Family Programming

“The concert was absolutely fantastic! Thank you for coming and sharing the talents of your members with all of us!”

If you grew up in Wichita, chances are you have a) heard a Kinderconcert at your school performed by WSO musicians, b) ridden a bus to Century II to attend a Young People’s Concert (YPC) with thousands of other children, or c) participated in our highly acclaimed Youth Orchestras program. Just this month we welcomed 12,000 students to Century II for YPCs, and our Youth Orchestras toured three local schools to share their musical talents with their peers (pictured above). These decades-long programs have created treasured memories across our great city and beyond, and pass on the gift of music to the next generation.

Community Vibrancy

The Symphony performs two community concerts each year, the Spirit of the Season Holiday Concert and the Twilight Pops Concert at Riverfest, and you will also find WSO musicians playing at your daughter’s wedding or teaching private lessons to your children and grandchildren. They can be heard in the pit at Music Theatre Wichita and Wichita Grand Opera. By sustaining the Wichita Symphony, you retain professional musicians in the Wichita community, and invest in the future of artists that make Wichita a cultural hub in the Midwest.

Supporting the Wichita Symphony Orchestra is an investment in your Orchestra and your community. Your gift supports the artistic excellence that creates excitement and inspires audiences. It allows us to continue the important educational and community programs, such as Young People’s Concerts, KinderConcerts, Family Concerts and our Youth Orchestra program, which build the audiences of tomorrow.
