WICHITA SYMPHONY PRESENTS A CONCERT OF CONTEMPORARY AND ROMANTIC WORKS
Time for Three Returns to Wichita with their Grammy Award-winning concerto
Wichita, KS – For the first time in a decade, Grammy Award-winning string trio Time for Three returns to Century II Concert Hall to perform with the Wichita Symphony on Saturday, January 25, 2025. Known for their electrifying energy and groundbreaking artistry, Time for Three promises an unforgettable evening of music that bridges classical, pop, jazz, and folk influences.
This evening concert, conducted by Daniel Hege, expertly blends classical and contemporary repertoire. Time for Three will present Contact, the Grammy Award-winning concerto written for the string trio by Kevin Puts, followed by the Wichita Symphony Orchestra claiming the spotlight, performing selections from Sergei Prokofiev’s beloved Romeo & Juliet.
“This program is a perfect blend of innovation and tradition,” says Daniel Hege, Music Director & Conductor. “This concert has something for everyone between the electrifying energy of Time for Three and Shakespeare’s tragic and passionate storytelling captured beautifully through Prokofiev’s music.”
This newcomer-friendly concert also includes the piece “Martin Luther King” from Duke Ellington’s Three Black Kings, a jazz-infused orchestral tribute to the late Civil Rights leader. Time for Three is presented by the Wichita Symphony on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 7:30 PM at Century II Concert Hall. Tickets are available now with no fees only at WichitaSymphony.org or by calling (316) 267-7658. Adult tickets start at $30 and student tickets are only $10.
