featuring Rachelle Goter, clarinet

Experience a fusion of elemental power and local artistry as the Symphony’s own Principal Clarinet, Rachelle Goter, takes center stage for Mozart’s sublime Clarinet Concerto. The program opens with the sharp, witty energy of Barber’s School for Scandal Overture, before turning toward the horizon for the vibrant "skyfire" of Stacy Garrop’s Spectacle of Light. The performance reaches its peak with the sweeping, impressionistic force of Debussy’s La Mer, capturing the vast movement of the ocean in one of the most evocative scores ever written. From Classical mastery to impressionistic brilliance, this concert celebrates the virtuosity of our resident musicians and the boundless inspiration of the natural world.
