Introductory String Orchestra Conductor
A product of the Wichita Symphony Youth Orchestra programs, Madeline Crawford is excited to continue her journey with the WSYO as the conductor for the Introductory String Orchestra after having previously served as the rehearsal assistant for the Youth Chamber Players. Ms. Crawford graduated from Wichita State University in 2017 where she double majored in cello performance and music education. She later continued her education at WSU, graduating with her Master of Music Education in 2023 and completing levels 1-3 Kodaly certification. After teaching middle school orchestra with Wichita Public Schools for her first 4 years, Ms. Crawford transitioned to Wichita Northwest High School where she currently serves as Director of Orchestras. In addition to teaching, Ms. Crawford enjoys subbing in the Wichita Symphony cello section. Ms. Crawford also prioritizes spending time with her husband and two children.
