About José Francisco Salgado, astronomer

José Francisco Salgado is an Emmy-nominated astronomer, experimental photographer, and visual artist who creates multimedia works that communicate science in engaging ways. As the Executive Director and co-founder of KV 265, a non-profit science and arts education organization, Dr. Salgado collaborates with orchestras, composers, and musicians to present films that provoke curiosity and a sense of wonder about the Earth and the Universe. About Trevor Stewart, Clarinet

We are thrilled to bring Trevor Stewart to the front of the stage to perform Aaron Copland's Clarinet Concerto! In addition to the Wichita Symphony, Trevor serves as principal clarinetist of the NAVO Chamber Orchestra and the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas (SoNA). He is the Instructor of Clarinet at Missouri Western State University, a private educator, and a clinician. Learn more at TrevorStewartClarinet.com.

Before every Masterworks Concert, the Wichita Symphony Orchestra will present pre-concert talks which help prepare you and deepen your understanding of the music to be performed in the program. Sometimes our guest soloists even join Maestro Hege for a discussion of their concerto collaboration! Free to all ticket holders, Concert Talks take place in the Concert Hall one hour prior to each Masterworks performance.
