RAVEL Piano Concerto in G Major
BRAHMS Symphony No. 2

The dreamy watercolors of Ravel’s jazz-inspired piano concerto effervesce under the fiery hands of Natasha Paremski. Then indulge in every lush moment of Brahm’s passionate Second Symphony from its tranquil lullaby theme to the triumphant finale.

What's interesting about these concerts?

#AllThatJazz – After a tour to America in 1928, French composer Maurice Ravel was heavily under the influence of Jazz (you would be too if George Gershwin showed up to your Birthday party in NYC). You can easily hear the intoxication in his Piano Concerto, which he started writing in 1929.

LIVING Composer Alert – Let this sink in: Hailed as a “prodigy in a field well-acquainted with prodigies,” not only is Luminosity composer Chris Rogerson living, he is creating magnificent work in his early THIRTIES.

Big Shoes to Fill – Thanks to the towering legacy of another German composer, Beethoven, Johannes Brahms procrastinated HARD and waited until his last 20 years to write a Symphony. He made Beethoven sound like the T Rex in Jurrassic Park when he said, “You will never know how the likes of us feel when we hear the tramp of a giant like Beethoven behind us.” Anyway, once Brahms got going, he knocked out four magnificent symphonies, the second of which was his personal favorite.
