Old Cowtown Suite at Eisenhower High School

Oct 11
7:30 PM
Eisenhower High School - 1230 S 167th St W, Goddard, KS 67052

featuring Trevor Stewart, clarinet

We are so excited to be partnering with Eisenhower High School in Goddard for this special encore performance!

If you couldn't make it out to see Old Cowtown Suite: A World Premiere Event at Century II on Saturday, October 9th, join us for this encore performance of the concert, in partnership with Eisenhower High School on Monday, October 11 at 7:30pm.

We're circling the wagons, and transporting the entire Symphony to Eisenhower High School, home of the Tigers. Join us in the Eisenhower auditorium for the same great programing from Saturday's concert at Century II.

On this concert, you'll hear Old Cowtown Suite, written by film composer George S. Clinton, and inspired by ICT's own Old Cowtown Museum. A visit to Cowtown in 2019 sparked Clinton's creativity, and what followed was a brand new piece in 6 movements, exploring the Chisholm Trail, Cowtown's historic church and jail-house, a run-down nickelodeon, the sounds of the print shop and blacksmith, a visit with Rosie the cow, and prairie life in the late 1800s. Also on the concert - WSO principal clarinetist Trevor Stewart performs Copland's Clarinet Concerto, and the Symphony performs a French-inspired work by a twenty-five year old American composer: Quinn Mason's Petite Symphonie

Ticket sale proceeds (net of taxes and fees) for this concert will be split between the Wichita Symphony and the Eisenhower High School Fine Arts Department. Please join us for this unique opportunity to see the Symphony and support public school arts education. We're ready to be BETTER TOGETHER, ONCE AGAIN.

QUINN MASON Petite Symphonie de Chambre Contemporaine (après Milhaud)
AARON COPLAND Clarinet Concerto
GEORGE S. CLINTON Old Cowtown Suite (world premiere)
